The Cross Roper - October

The Cross Roper
October 09

Can you imagine going to a Team Roping where at one point or another, the Flagger’s call is questioned? Where several people see the same run differently? Or interpret the rules to their understanding? Can there be more than one right, or is our way the only way?

In my writings, I discovered that when you’re involved with a question and answer column such as “Ask the Flagger” with Philip Murrah, or my own information column, “The Cross Roper”, you tend to observe a different perspective of how others interpret what they see or what you have written.
In the ‘Cross Roper’ column I pass on instruction derived from scripture, taken from the Holy Bible. At no time do I feel I have implemented my personal theories. I believe the Lord does guide my hand in all that I write. However, I have received E-mails, phone calls and even letters accusing me of not having an accurate interpretation of the scriptures. What I am trying to assure to all you readers, is that the Lord (according to the Bible-not Bob Philips), has the final word in everything that pertains to our being…

In this imperfect world, we all fall short of being sinless. But that we try is important in receiving the glory that the Lord will present us with in eternity.

Romans 8:18
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing
with the glory that will be revealed in us. NIV

What good comes from disagreeing with the call of the Flagger? What good comes from feeling we are more right then another? What good is obtained in the misfortune of another?

James 1:19-20

19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. NIV

Now as far as me ‘implementing theory’; “Sin is easy, avoiding it is much harder”. This is strictly from my own personal experience…
