National Roper’s Supply brought in Lari Dee Guy for the weekend (November 17-19)
to teach the basics of breakaway roping. While the potential of rain always threatened,
Lari Dee kept the girls focused on learning how to handle their horse better and catch
more. 11 girls from Texas & Oklahoma came to Decatur, Texas to be a part of the
National Roper’s Supply training program and learn from one of the best ropers in the
world.

| Day One |

Day One focused on proper equipment and protection for your horse. Everything from the how
a rope is made to the need for protective boots to bitting was covered by Sonny Miller,
National Roper’s Supply Sales Manager and horse guru. This part of the school is held
in the NRS Tack Store. |

| Day Two |
|
Day Two began with groundwork, which included Lari Dee’s evaluation of swing basics
and instruction for better, more accurate roping. The afternoon took the students into the
arena to focus on their horses and how to work out of the box. By the end of the day,
students were roping calves and applying what they had learned.

| Day Three |
|
Day Three began with more work on student’s horses and roping calves. At the end of
the school, students had the opportunity to rope in a jackpot for big money (around $11!). 
The students were broken into two groups for the jackpots. Taylor Miller
and Jenny Howard won their respective groups. Jenny Howard also won the "Most
Improved" belt buckle presented by NRS at each school. |

better horsemen and to improve the rider’s skills in competitive events. Lari Dee
is amazing to watch when she has a rope in her hand and an excellent example of dedication
and practice. She has a number of accomplishment and awards in both breakaway roping and
