Darren Choate of Westville, Oklahoma was glad he came to Tunica, Mississippi.
He won the first go round, the short go round and placed fifth in the average,
giving him 360 total points and a brand new 2003 one-ton Ford XLT dually pick up
truck.
Jamie Neims, Darren’s
partner for the short go, won fifth place in the average. This gave Jamie
310 points total, placing him as runner up.
The Burkes of Bartlet,
Tennessee were also glad they came. Kayla Ann was the five and under champ in
the Junior Looper Dummy Roping and her brother Phillip Burke Jr. was the champ
in the 6-7 age group. Their father, Phillip Sr., feeling the pressure to
succeed from his children, made some world class heel shots and was able to
secure the cash and prizes of a sixth place victory in the average.

always enjoys traveling to Tunica to hold a roping in a state-of-the-art complex
such as the Tunica Arena & Exposition Center. We had a great time there
