NRS Trailers Team Roping Event

On the weekend of June 6 and 7, NRS held its third NRS Trailers Team Roping event and gave away two trailers. Cade Isham, son the David Isham, owner and CEO of NRS, marked up 47 points on Saturday to take home the 2009 Trails West Adventure MX II 2-horse bumper-pull trailer. It was an exciting weekend for Cade; he graduated from high school on Friday and won his first trailer on Saturday. On Sunday, with 42 points, Tylo Lyon, 16, took home the second trailer.

At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday they cracked the Priefert chute for the number twelve jackpot roping. Warren Hudspeth and Ryan Rouse had a 37.25 on four head and took home $1,040. Pete Fanning and Ryan Rouse had 40.42 and took home $560. The number eleven followed the twelve with Warren Hudspeth and Colt Baldwin taking home $1,040 and John Dunklin and Cade Isham winning $560 for second. Seventy-two teams filled the number ten pick/draw. Ryan Hays and Randy Crider were first place with 27.27 on three for $1,000 payoff. Thomas Bryan and Tony Lyon had 29.76 seconds to take home $600 and Ryan Hays and Cade Isham had 35.75. Cade Isham marked up his points for placing eight times in the top ten in the three ropings.

The number eight pick/draw started off the Sunday morning with 57 teams. Bo Pollard and Ryan Hays had 34.16 seconds on three head to take home $990. Kelly Swafford and Gene Bostick took home $590 with 41.81 seconds, and Kelly Swafford and Kennith Clark took home $390 for third. The number nine pick/draw had 130 teams. Robby Assumpcao and Gary Johnson took home $2,500 for first place. Justin Garrett and Troy Latson had 33.5 on three for $2,060 and second place, and Mark Lee and Tylo Lyon had 33.63 for third and $1,520. Tylo collected his points for the trailer for third, fifth, seventh and eighth placings.

Resistol also gave away “Big Money” Straws to the average winners. There was also a drawing each day for a Resistol Black Gold Cowboy hat, valued at $350. Warren Hudspeth just about won a new hat for everyday of the week with his two average winnings on Saturday and his lucky name drawn for the felt. Gene Bostick took home the Black Gold on Sunday.
