7/18 Drew Horner: Uncoiled. Stories from the Road – Part 2

0
Yesterday I told you about some of the scary stories from the road the past couple weeks. On a lighter note, I have some comical stories to share as well.
We were sitting at the slack in Mollala, OR. Me and some other ropers, Derrick Begay, Turtle Powell and some others were sitting by the head box looking for Cesar de la Cruz. The next few minutes could not have been more funny, even if it was acted out in a movie.
Cesar was running late and had a rental car, with another buddy of ours. They were calling his name to rope and he came flying down the road, slide to a stop about 40 feet from the box. Somebody had his horse saddled and Cesar jumped on his horse, backed in the box, Derrick nodded his head, turned the steer and they were 5.2 and won 2nd in the first round. It was one of the most fast-paced funniest things I’ve ever seen – to see this little car coming flying, slide to a stop, run out of the car, jump on his horse and place in the first round. Sometimes that’s how the week of the 4th of July feels like.

Those are just some of the good, bad, scary, and funny stories while out there on the road. It’s been some new adventures. It all builds my trust in God that he is there to bring us through all situations.
We have a couple days off in Fallon Nevada, then we Salinas, California and Napa Idaho. I’ll be talking to you all soon.
