King of Country Music, King of Jackpots

The George Strait Team Roping Classic, need I say anymore? This is Team Roping at it’s best. Big money, great prizes, and the King of Country Music behind it all. If you are a competitive roper in any fashion, you need to be apart of the GSTRC at some point.
My day here is going to be slow and long, until about 5:30 pm when I run my first steer. I am sitting at the coffee shop down the road, just got done doing some social media stuff, read my Bible a little bit, then I’m about to head to the gym for a quick workout. I want to stay busy and focused throughout the day so I can get myself prepared for my long evening that awaits me.

I rope first with Trey Johnson in rotation 8, then with Jordon Olson in rotation 9, and finish off my day with my man, Buddy Hawkins in rotation 10. I am pretty excited about today. Feeling good about it!
This roping is epic! I wrote in my latest blog just before this one about the feeling I get when I come here and how it always gets me pumped for team roping, so for me now, today is going to be a good day! My horses feel great and I feel ready. I am taking it slow today just to keep myself chill and focused on what my objective is; turn every steer fast enough to get qualified. SIMPLE! That’s my focus.

I walked up and saw everyone getting ready warming their horses up and I got excited. Looking at the prizes for this roping is always fun for me. I have always wanted to win the truck and trailer here.
