Ready to Rock Round 1!

Last night, I didn’t get much sleep. Today marks round 1 for the 2013 National Finals Rodeo which means for me, my first steer at the Finals EVER!!! I am a little excited… Ha!
It’s been fun here the past couple days seeing how Las Vegas has been transformed into a “cowboy town”. The MGM Grand has literally went from nothing to rodeo is a few days. I saw the Marquee Ballroom where the National Ropers Supply Shopping Experience is located transform from a huge empty room to a GIANT SUPERSTORE for all things rodeo like Elvis transformed the twist for rock and roll! Pretty incredible. It really has been a cool experience so far.

As for tonight, I couldn’t feel more ready. I am pumped and ready to rock! My roping feels outstanding and my horses are working great. I feel honored to be here and competing alongside the great of our sport. It’s incredible for me because some of these guys are guys I have looked up to for years. Now, I’m just one of the guys. Such a blessing. These guys have taken me in and helped me reach my goal. Rodeo is an extremely competitive sport, but there is more camaraderie inside our sport than anywhere else. There’s nothing like it.
