Smooth is Fast

I bet you have heard the ole’ cliché that “Smooth is Fast”. Well, in Team Roping, that really is true. Fast runs may sometimes look sloppy and wild, but for the most part, the most consistent and fast teams always look the most fluid. All the little reactions that the best have are in the little things. Their hands and feet, their ability to ride and reach and also handle cattle at that fast of a pace seems all but smooth when they are roping steers in 4 or 5 seconds.
The little things in roping are what make a difference. Good gear, fast horses, and chemistry between partners impact the way a run comes together.

Think about it, at the highest level of any sport, who do you see wining and what are they doing to win consistently? They are practicing endlessly, they take care of their gear and horses, and they have a synergy within their team that people sometimes describe as chemistry. The synergy between horse and rider, roping partners, and the gear they are using provide these top ropers to make those fast 4 and 5 second runs that seem wild and reckless, but, in the details, are really smooth and fluid. That is why I take pride in my gear. I use the best gear around for a reason. A good rope is critical to being fast. A rope that is fast on the horns, smooth in your swing, and tight and reliable when you deliver it provides me with the confidence to be fast when I need to. Rattler Ropes delivers when it comes to putting together great ropes for headers and heelers. I use the GT4.

It is a 4 strand rope with a core. The 4 strands make it fast and tight on the horns and the core keeps each rope they make consistent in their feel and ability to last in all sorts of different weather conditions. No need to worry about kinks or twists in your rope when you have a core. The core acts as a stabilizer that maintains your ropes condition. When you go to National Ropers Supply to buy a rope or go to your local rope dealer, break open a Rattler GT4 and swing it for yourself. Take note of the smooth swing and the delivery it has. You can trust me on how fast and tight it is when you catch the horns or feet. I am sure you will love it. Go try one for yourself! DH
