Sport Care for Horse Athletes

Our horses are athletes. I played a lot of sports growing up and I workout regularly, so I know what it feels like to perform when I am not healthy. It is tough to be at your best when your muscles are in pain and your back is stressed. It takes a physical and a mental toll on your performance and ability to win. Having good, quality gear for your horse is a need this day and age in our sport. It is a sport now and the most important thing about a sport is getting the ‘W’. Good saddle pads are important in our sport of Team Roping. In order to win, you have to have good horses that will feel healthy to be able to compete at a high level every day. The stress they get at any level of roping is hard. A horse’s back gets pushed and pulled on, compressed and stretched all in one run. A proper saddle fit and a good pad can help reduce the stress a horse takes within our sport. I have always been looking for ways to take care of my horses with good saddles and pads. I have recently joined in with Oxbow Tack to help reduce the stress on my horses back and make it a little easier on them to do their job. It is %100 felt pad with a wool fleece under it. Being a felt pad with a bottom fleece layer creates essentially a 2 in 1 pad. There is no need to put a Navajo blanket under a felt pad anymore. It is one pad that provides everything you need for your horses. I love this! This makes it easy to handle and load and really easy to saddle my horses.
